Speech and Language Services

Our speech language pathologists provide evaluations as part of our Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation and independent assessments. Treatment emphasis is placed on developing individualized and measurable goals entwined through a collaborative process between you and the clinician. In line with our overall mission, our speech pathologists use a parent education/coaching model as indicated with toddlers, children, and adolescents to support the patient’s skill acquisition and transfer across settings (e.g., home, school, and community).

Speech language services are designed to target:

  • Expressive Language difficulties using language, both verbally or non-verbally, to engage with others
  • Receptive Language comprehension of spoken language, following directions
  • Social Interactions and/or Play (in collaboration with our psychologists and behavioral analysts) understanding the nuances of social communication, making and keeping friendships
  • Articulation and Phonology challenges with producing speech sounds, clarity and intelligibility
  • Motor Speech Disorders Some people with ASD and NDDs have difficulty planning and coordinating the muscles to produce speech
  • Fluency disorders, such as stuttering or cluttering
  • Feeding/Swallowing Challenges
  • Alternative and Augmentative Communication (low technology); outside referrals for high technology devices evaluations at this time

Our speech language pathologists are engaging in advanced training on the topics of Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) and Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)
