PEERS® is a 14-week (16-week for YA) evidence-based social skills intervention for teens and young adults who are interested in learning ways to help build and maintain positive friendships.
In the group, teens and young adults will learn about:
◊ Starting and maintaining conversations
◊ Finding a source of friends
◊ Appropriate use of electronic communication
◊ Using humor appropriately
◊ Entering and exiting conversations
◊ Organizing and having successful get-togethers
◊ Managing disagreements
◊ And MUCH MORE!
PEERS® also includes a parent group equipping parents on how to:
◊ Assist teens and young adults in making and keeping friends
◊ Expand their teen and young adult’s social network
◊ Provide feedback through coaching
Enrollment is limited. Parent participation is required
◊ Classes are proposed to begin on September 15th, 2016.
